Big Business event coming to Exeter on 18 July 2025
Inspired Motive, award-winning event organisers, have been part of Your Partnerships for several years, and are now bringing their big-event expertise to the South West. We are excited to announce their West Country Business Show, taking place at the Westpoint Arena in Exeter, in July 2025, in conjunction with Your Partnerships!
Hannah Danson for Your Partnerships spoke with Pearl Pearce-Smith of Inspired Motive, to find out more.
Hannah: So, tell me about Inspired Motive…
Pearl: We were founded by Matt Williams and Ryan Treloar, in 2019, and we’re a team of 5 now, since last week. I joined in ’22 doing marketing, and Paul Webb joined in ’23 as Sales Director. Our new person is Tom Jacobson and he is the New Business Generator.
Obviously, 2020 wasn’t great for face-to-face networking, and we weren’t sure whether the events industry would bounce back, or how long that might take, or even whether it might look completely different when it did, so it was a worrying time!
H: I can imagine!

P: So we went online, to start with. We ran an online expo, which was, well, OK, for the limitations we had. We learned a lot, and found out a lot about why face-to-face events are important, and what makes them work for people.
We had our first in-person event in 2022, in London, the Business Revival Series. We were aiming to help business people get their businesses up and running again, and gaining momentum after the pandemic, and it worked. People loved it, getting back to in-person events again.
And since then we’ve run several large events, in London and Birmingham, The Corporate Wellbeing Expo, Business Innovation Expo, and others specifically around Remote Working, Marketing, Sales, Communication Technology, and more. We also run the Care and Occupational Therapy Show, in Exeter, which is a change of pace.
H: Why Exeter?
P: Well, Matt and Ryan are based in Cornwall, in Redruth, and they’d always wanted to have events further down west, to support that economy. Hence why we’re also launching the West Country Business Show for next year.
H: What are the differences, between events in London or Birmingham and events in the South West?
P: To start with, it’s more laid back. But the businesses here rival the rest of the UK, so it’s not backwards, at all. Every region of the UK is subtly different, which is why we were keen to partner with Your Partnerships for this event.
We’re using this show as a platform to help exhibitors who offer services to other businesses – software solutions, corporate wellbeing, promotional merchandise, and so much more. And we have seminars and workshops, and speed networking as well. We’ve just got our CPD accreditation, so any seminar or workshop you attend at one of our events can count towards professional learning and qualifications.
And the speed networking is why we’ve got Your Partnerships involved. YP will be running it, and also helping people craft their elevator pitches, and deliver a successful mini-presentation about their business or service. You’re the experts, at that, and at networking in the South West, so why would we not involve you?

H: So who are you talking to here? Why would you like to exhibit, and who do you think ought to visit?
P: There’s some overlap – we want any business which offers a B2B service to consider taking a stand. You can email my colleague Paulwebb@inspiredmotive.co.uk for information. But I can tell you that we’re aiming to offer packages to suit all sizes of business, from the smallest of SMEs to extravagant stands, depending on what you need.
And guests – well, any business! You can find out more on our website www.westcountrybusinessshow.co.uk.
H: Excellent. Have you got a link for people to book tickets?
P: Yes, sure – on Eventbrite.
H: So, where can YP members catch up with the Inspired Motive team over the next few months?
P: Ryan and Matt are based out of our office in Redruth, and I’m not going to say they’ll be at EVERY YP event, but they’ll do their best!
H: Every YP event is possibly a bit much, but it’ll be great to see them around, and learn more about Inspired Motive and your upcoming events. Thanks for speaking with me today.
P: No problem at all. I look forward to seeing the article.
H: Thanks.
